Bria's Amazing Art Gallery!!!

Hi there! Welcome to my art gallery! Here you can see all of the works of art I created in my 8th grade art class this year. I am extremely proud of all of these pieces of artwork because I put much time and effort into all of them. Thank you so much for coming to see my hard work.

This is my animated GIF which I created using GIMP image editor. I made a sun representing my anticipation for summer vacation. I love making these so much that I am going to take a computer generated art course in high school.

This is the mask I made out of plaster. I painted it with orange and green to represent my Irish heritage, and also because I love the secondary colors.

This is “Starry Night,” which I created with a medium of watercolor paints over pastels. Notice how the paint seems to seep off of the pastel colors, creating a blending pattern. I am very proud of this work.

This is “Sunset Over Water,” which I drew with colored pencils. I tried to create the illusion of symmetry by drawing nearly the same image on both sides of the paper. Also, it is impossible to tell which side of the drawing is the real sun and which is the reflection, which I believe adds a significant aura of mystery to this work.

This is a painting I did on a rectangular board painted with gesso, and then done with tempera paint for the color. As you can see, it is of multicolored musical notes on a rainbow staff. I painted this because I love listening to music, and playing it also. This was a simple work that I enjoyed painting.

And this is my amazing oil painting!!! Well, maybe it's not extremely amazing, but it's one of the best works of art I've ever created, and I'm extremely proud of myself for it. As you can see, it is a butterfly sitting on a plant stem. The hardest part of this painting was creating the leaves sticking out of the sides of the stem. I found that quite challenging to do the pattern of veins on each leaf. Also, I enjoyed mixing the various shades of blue within this painting, because blue is one of my absolute favorite colors!
