My name is Caitlyn and I go to Immaculate Heart of Mary school in Monona. This is my art gallery. The inspiration for my art is Georgia O' Keeffe. As you can see I LOVE to draw flowers, just like her. The pieces of artwork in my gallery are pieces that I have worked on and completed over my sixth, seventh, and eight grade years. They are all quite small in size, but they mean a lot to me. They show my progress over my middle school years. I have worked a lot with GIMP, and think that it is really fun. You can see one of my GIMP creations on the left side of the screen. My favorite thing that I did all year was my oil painting, because it looks the most professional. You will see that at the bottom of the page.

I really liked the outcome of this piece of art because of the tie between the yellow flowers, and the golden background.

My favorite color is purple so I drew these flowers purple and the one below purple. In this one, I love the shades of purple, and the shade of green. I did this piece in sixth grade and it goes to show that I have improved.

In this art piece, I really like how the red, orange, and yellow all flow together. Sunsets are another thing that I enjoy painting.

In this piece, I love the mixture of the purple, gold, and green. I also really like the 3D features in this piece. I looks very cool. I really like this piece.

This is one of my favorite 3D type pieces that I have made. I use sequins to outline the design of my flowers, and then used the opposite color to paint in between.

This was the most fun piece of artwork that I did. It was a mask of my face. I started out by having someone put wet gnaws strips on my face, leaving holes for my eyes, and mouth. I then went over it with wet newspaper strips. I painted it blue, put tissue paper behind the holes, and added feathers that were blue green and purple. It was made for/around the time of Mardi Gras. I turned out well, and it was very fun.

I made the art piece with Sarah and she painted the right side, and I painted the left. We then put them together, and it turned out like this. I think that it looks really cool and it's one of my favorites.

This painting is really plain, but I still like it. It is on a plain board, that I gessoed, and then painted to look like a sun rise. I like the top the best because of the blending.

I had a lot of fun making this piece of art. What I did first was use a thick sheet of a cardboard-like material, and cut it into a square. After that, I cut out three fish, in three different sizes, and cut out an eye, and a fin. I glued them all together, and sprayed it with a chunky paint, that made it look like stone.

This is my oil painting. It was a very long process to get to this point. First, we had to take a large piece of paper and draw a very accurate sketch of what we wanted to paint. Then, we had to decide the size of our canvas, and cut each side to the exact size. After that, we had to glue the frame together, and cut and staple the canvas to the frame. To stretch the canvas even more, we had to wet the back of the painting. The next thing that we had to do was gesso the front of the canvas. Then we were ready to start. We drew out sketch on the canvas, and spent a lot of time painting it with oil paints. Once it was approved, we signed our names, and took a picture. This is how mine turned out.
